Another Point of View

The image below is from a different angle of the sky scrapers on the main highway, Sheikh Zayed Road, running through Dubai.  The people are local Indian workers playing cricket on their day off.  The stark contrasts in this city are very striking and the scale of development in what was once a desert are extraordinary.  I’ve been traveling around the edges of the city and finding massive tower blocks built speculatively in the hope that they could cash in on the building boom. Bizarrely, even though many of the buildings lie unfinished and empty, more are still being constructed. I’m shooting primarily on my large format and medium format film cameras so I have only a few digital shots, but I will post some more soon, when I can find somewhere with a decent internet connection.
